The Traxxas slash 2wd was released spring of 08 as the first remote control short course style truck. This durable truck sparked a wave of short course trucks to be produced by other manufacturers as well as it's own race class in most RC off-road racing tracks. The 2wd Slash is the predecessor of Traxxas's 4wd slash. While the 4wd Slash offers superior handling thanks to it's 4wd, some prefer the 2wd Slash for the simplicity of it's transmission and the fun of having the rear end being "loose".
